Nationals teams are based on the top 4 senior men and 3 women across the line just like the open team. However, due to 35+ and 50+ age teams, clubs can declare specific athletes to be in an age cat team. Once athletes are declared for an age cat team they cannot not move down an age category team or have another athlete fill their place. Be careful when selecting declared teams.
If teams are undeclared, athletes will be placed by the youngest member of the team.ex. First 4 men across the line for a club would be a senior team if any 1 of those athletes are senior. (2 senior and 2 35+). Likewise if 2 35+ plus athletes and 1 50+ were the next best placed they would be classed as 35+ team and so on. The top 3 teams will be awarded gold, silver and Bronze medals.
Individual age cats start from 35+, 40+, 45+, 50+, 55+, 60+, 65+, 70+, 75+ and 80+ for both men and women.
The top 3 in each age category are awarded Gold, Silver and Bronze medals.
